Planned Parenthood targets Christian young people
Planned Parenthood of South Central Michigan is running a conference this coming weekend that targets young Christians. According to its advertisements, the Spirituality and Sexuality conference is intended for youth in grades 10 - 12 and has the following three goals:
- Giving youth a chance to learn about and discuss sexuality in the context of their religious beliefs, by providing a forum to go beyond the "nuts and bolts" toward understanding sexuality in a broader context.
- Preparing youth to be advocates for life-span sexuality education within congregations
- Nurturing a coalition of local congregations who can work as partners to address issues of sexuality which are important to the whole community.
This conference is nothing more than Planned Parenthood trying to impose its view of sex on these unsuspecting teens. According to information on PP's website, the conference is being overseen by the Center for Leadership in Sexuality Education. Lest you think this is some independent group, research shows that it is a project of Planned Parenthood of South Central Michigan set up specifically to carry out Planned Parenthood's primary goal for the first 25 years of this century - "to ensure that sexuality is understood as an essential life long aspect of being human and that it is celebrated with respect, openness and mutuality."
The conference is bring held at the Sherman Lake YMCA Camp in Augusta, Michigan
Planned Parenthood selling anti-Catholic material
It what can only be described as schizophrenic behavior, Planned Parenthood of South Central Michigan (the same organization that is running the Spirituality and Sexuality conference described in the preceding item) is selling a bumper sticker on its web store that has a picture of a rosary and the slogan: "Keep your rosaries off my ovaries."
Pro-lifers have, of course, have heard this slogan shouted at them by avid pro-abortion people for years. Now, you have a Planned Parenthood affiliate, which is actively trying to court the religious community, selling this offensive anti-Catholic product.
Planned Parenthood selling anti-Christian material
Another Planned Parenthood affiliate, Planned Parenthood of Connecticut, has incurred the ire of Christians across the country for a condom key chain it is selling. The key chain has a large plastic case with a condom inside. The outside of the plastic has many different designs. One of those designs is particularly offensive to most Christians. It is a reproduction of Michelangelo's "Creation" drawing from the Sistine Chapel. However, in the Planned Parenthood version, God is handing Adam a condom!
Planned Parenthood offends Christians in selection of party host
Planned Parenthood of Western Washington is having a "Pro-Choice Prom." The event is being organized by the Young Professionals Group. According to Planned Parenthood, The Young Professionals Group organizes a few events each year in order to broaden awareness among young adults about the scope of PPWW activities, to help sustain PPWW programs and services by raising money, and to advise and encourage PPWW on how better to reach out to young people.
Their "outreach to young people" at this event includes hiring a host who is billed as Seattle's preeminent drag queen. The host's name is - Amazing Grace.
Although some might suggest that the name may have nothing to do with the Christian hymn, we doubt it. But, more to the point, Planned Parenthood, an organization that has done a large number of things to offend Christians, not only hired this person to be host of its prom, but advertised it.
Planned Parenthood is showing, over and over, that it is an anti-God, anti-Christian organization.
It is time to act
Planned Parenthood is making it absolutely clear that, while it courts co-operation with Christian communities, it is not going to stop its blatant attacks on those same faith communities.
STOPP has always identified itself as a Christian organization. We firmly believe that if we proclaim our Christian opposition to Planned Parenthood, we cannot lose. As Planned Parenthood increases its attacks on Christians, we ask you all to go boldly into your communities and proclaim Jesus and the Word of God.
The following item shows what will happen to Planned Parenthood if we will be forthright and persistent.
Planned Parenthood closes Indiana clinic
In the first publicly announced closing of a Planned Parenthood clinic in 2006, Planned Parenthood of Indiana has announced the closing of its clinic in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
The Journal Review newspaper reported that Liz Carroll, vice president of patient services at Planned Parenthood of Indiana, said the decision to close was based on a shortage of nurse practitioners in the area and the cost of running the facility.
"As we looked at the Crawfordsville location and we looked at the picture statewide, the costs at Crawfordsville were high ... and we had some difficulty keeping a nurse practitioner at that site," Carroll said.
Congratulations to STOPP of Indiana and other pro-lifers who are educating throughout the state on the truth about Planned Parenthood.
