Vermont Planned Parenthood: Taxpayer money and pornography
A longtime fighter against Planned Parenthood in Vermont, Mary Hahn Beerworth, recently reported on the latest outrage from Planned Parenthood in that state.
Beerworth found that federal funds were made available in Vermont for the purpose of reaching sexually active men between the ages of 18 and 24 with targeted messages about sexual health and responsibility. Planned Parenthood of Northern New England applied for and received an annual grant of $125,000 and used some of the money to create a web site called The Manphone.
A review of the site by citizens of Vermont revealed that it contained pulsating pictures, suggestive overtones and messages that included advising men about being "good lovers." For example, the "stud" or "dud" tab was designed to help improve your sexual prowess whether you were having a "one-night stand" or were in a more committed relationship. In addition, there were links on the site to adult pornography web sites.
If all of this was not bad enough, Planned Parenthood even added a link to The Manphone from its site designed for teens.
When word of this infuriating site became public knowledge, Gov. Jim Douglas pulled the plug on the Planned Parenthood site. However, over 70 lawmakers have signed a letter calling upon Gov. Douglas to reactivate the site.
It's time all government officials got the message that we do not want any of our taxpayer money going to an organization whose primary purpose seems to be the sexualization of America. We invite all Vermonters and all citizens across the country to sign our petition against taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood at www.StopPlannedParenthoodTaxFunding.com. Together we can make a difference.
Planned Parenthood focus group results
We have received information that one of Planned Parenthood's affiliates recently conducted focus group sessions to find out what the public thinks about Planned Parenthood.
In one area, the results of the focus groups showed that people consider the following items to be among the strengths of the organization: trustworthy, caring, helpful, understanding and confidential.
Clearly, the public is unaware of the truths about Planned Parenthood. If we are to successfully fight Planned Parenthood, we must make public the facts about Planned Parenthood showing that the five perceived strengths of the organization are really fiction.
One excellent way of doing this is to expose Planned Parenthood's complicity in the sexual abuse of minor girls. The next item explains this.
Planned Parenthood: Child predator
In 2002, Mark Crutcher of Life Dynamics Incorporated conducted a telephone effort in which his organization called over 800 Planned Parenthood and National Abortion Federation clinics across the country. In the phone calls, a young woman, who identified herself as a 13-year-old, tells the abortionists that she is having sex with a 22-year-old boyfriend and has become pregnant.
Now in every state in the union, that type of a relationship is illegal. A girl of 13 cannot consent to sex with a 22-year-old man. It is statutory rape.
But at over 90 percent of the clinics called, instead of taking the girl's information so that authorities could be notified and the girl helped to end this abusive relationship, the person answering the phone counseled the girl on how to avoid detection. In other words, these Planned Parenthood clinics were giving advice on how to protect child predators.
We encourage all our readers to find out the details of how the Planned Parenthood clinic in your town talked to the girl and to make that public.
Life Dynamics has setup a special web site, www.ChildPredators.com. Go to it to learn more about this violation of the law by Planned Parenthood employees.
There are many things we do to fight Planned Parenthood. Revealing its seedy disregard for the health and welfare of our children and teens is very important. Although this will not be an easy task, we encourage all readers of the Wednesday STOPP Report to find out about Planned Parenthood's illegal activity and then work hard to bring it to the attention of your local communities and your local district attorneys. They may dismiss you, at first, but you must be persistent.
When you are successful at educating your communities about Planned Parenthood's protection of child predators, the public will no longer see Planned Parenthood as trustworthy, caring or helpful and the Planned Parenthood empire will begin to rapidly fall.
Two states oppose Planned Parenthood; how about your community?
Two states are already investigating Planned Parenthood's role in protecting child predators. Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline is seeking Planned Parenthood records in his investigation of child rape and illegal late-term abortions. Planned Parenthood of Indiana is also under investigation by the Medical Fraud Control Unit and Attorney General Steve Carter.
Planned Parenthood's response to these investigations has been to file lawsuits to prevent these attorneys general from seeing its client records, claiming a minor child's "right to privacy."
Planned Parenthood suffered a major defeat last Friday, January 28, when the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver ruled that the state's interest in information about the voluntary sexual conduct of children overrides any minor's right to privacy.
Now is the time for all those fighting Planned Parenthood to use the documentation from Life Dynamics and expose Planned Parenthood's protection of child predators.
Successful demonstration against Planned Parenthood in Dallas
On January 26, Planned Parenthood of North Texas held a major fundraising event with a panel discussion. The panelists were: Christine Todd Whitman (former New Jersey governor), Faye Wattleton (former president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America) and Francis Kissling (head of Catholics for a Free Choice). Local STOPPers were out in force demonstrating against this event.
We received the following report put together by JoAnn Murray (coordinator of the Dallas-area Coalition Against Planned Parenthood), Daniel Vinzant (coordinator of Texans Opposed to Planned Parenthood) and Jessie Anne Nobles (of the Catholic Pro-Life Committee of North Texas).
Planned Parenthood of North Texas Annual Awards Luncheon PicketApproximately 38 pro-lifers from D-CAPP (the Dallas-area Coalition Against Planned Parenthood - made up of people from the Catholic Pro-Life Committee of North Texas, Texans for Life Coalition, Operation Save America, Texans Opposed to Planned Parenthood, Operation Outcry North Texas, and Radio Xavier) picketed Planned Parenthood at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas. Pro-lifers began arriving at 10:45 as the luncheon doors opened at 11:30. It was a blessing that we could park in the hotel lot adjacent to where we stood, so we had access to our signs and literature. We stayed until almost 12:30 when the last of the stragglers drove in.
We were lined up along Market Center Boulevard, next to the right-turn lane into the hotel's main entrance. With so many cars turning in, they had to sit in that lane with our signs in their faces. It was a captive audience! Because of the traffic jam many of them did not get there on time. So there was some agitation among the people in the cars who had to endure both us and our signs (and the police officer directing traffic). Things did get a little stressful there at the peak of the rush. JoAnn Murray estimated 500 people attended the luncheon. JoAnn handed out, to anyone in the cars who would take them, the Life Decisions Boycott List and a "bullet point" flyer on Planned Parenthood she had prepared.
A group of pro-lifers stood in the area where the cars had to turn into the hotel parking lot. At this spot, Jeanette Sliter was able to pass out American Life League's STOPP literature, "Why do we oppose Planned Parenthood?" and "Who was Margaret Sanger?" to the people who entered the hotel grounds on foot. Kimberley Reyes and others spoke to them directly about the true nature of Planned Parenthood. The head of hotel security came out (accompanied by two lackeys) and pitched a fit about the people wrapped around the corner into the driveway and standing on the grass and Jeanette handing out literature. We probably could have made a big deal about this, but we were there for such a short time and our displays were so effective on the sidewalk that we simply complied and moved back to the sidewalk alone and off the hotel property. The detectives were impressed with our decorum and we felt we won more respect from them for future goodwill.
The rest of us were spread out all along Market Center Boulevard to the corner of Stemmons Freeway (I-35). At the very end on the corner of the freeway, two pro-lifers held the giant "Planned Parenthood Is Killing Our Children" banner. It was good we had children with us, too. And one mom with two little guys, one of them in a stroller. A luncheon guest in her car took a picture of the three-year old boy holding a "Stop Planned Promiscuity" sign!
A Dallas police officer was directing traffic into the hotel and he was kind and friendly to us, taking care of us as we crossed the driveway. Carol Seward and Jessie Anne Nobles spoke to him before we left and he wished us a "good day." Three police detectives were on the scene, with Detective Acala being the lead, although we did not notify the police that we would be picketing this event. The detectives told Daniel Vinzant that they never worry when they see our familiar faces, and that they only show up to calm down the business owners who do not yet know how peaceful we are.
Also, for the first time we used signs stating Planned Parenthood being funded by our tax money:
Planned Parenthood
America's Largest
Abortion Provider
33% Funded by Taxpayer
$$$Sixteen of these signs were donated to the cause by a sympathetic sign company that Carol approached. Originally they were going to sell them at a discount, but then ended up giving them to Carol with the encouragement, "Keep up the good work!" Daniel said the detectives gave pause and comments to these signs about our tax money going to Planned Parenthood. The other signs we carried were the red stop signs borrowed from Pro-Life Waco, "Stop Planned Promiscuity." OSA brought their own signs, some of which were graphic abortion photos. These were appropriate for the crowd we were trying to reach. OSA had someone taking video of the event and he said he would get a copy to CPLC. Jessie Anne took still photos which will be put onto a CD.
All in all, we were pleased with the way the picket went and felt we had accomplished our mission of exposing and confronting Planned Parenthood at another one of their annual events.
Note: On the Sunday before the picket JoAnn Murray was interviewed on Radio Xavier, our local Catholic radio station. She did a superb job in articulating Planned Parenthood's agenda, how they operate, and how they have infiltrated so many organizations in our society. She gave great information which most likely opened a lot of listeners' eyes to the evils of this organization. JoAnn did her homework, knew her facts, and the truth came out loud and clear. Radio Xavier has expressed an interest in doing some ongoing reports on Planned Parenthood and JoAnn has sent them more topics for discussion. Thank you, JoAnn, and thank you, Radio Xavier!
