Planned Parenthood defiantly continues to protect rapists
For years Life Dynamics has played a key role in exposing the scandalous protection of rapists and molesters that Planned Parenthood is involved in. When LDI first came out with the audio recordings of Planned Parenthood staff clearly refusing to report suspected rape and abuse and even instructing girls to lie about their age the lid of this scandal was blown way off. However since that time the controversy has died down some, the public has forgotten.
That is until now. Last week we reported that a suit is being brought against PP in Cincinnati for failing to report the abuse of a 16 year old. Now, a group of students from UCLA caught Planned Parenthood on tape instructing a girl to lie about her age so that they could get around reporting suspected abuse.
This blatant disregard for the law and for the health and safety of young women is a clear violation of state law and as such may disqualify PP for government funding.
We encourage you to share the fact that there is increasing evidence that Planned Parenthood protects rapists and child molesters by refusing to report suspected abuse. Inform your family and friends, write letters to your local newspaper. Write letters to your government officials asking for an investigation into Planned Parenthood's operations and insist that its government money be taken away since it is clearly disregarding the law.
We have created a flier to be used in conjunction with any efforts to inform the public how Planned Parenthood protects rapists. We invite you to download the flier for free and use it to educate your local community. In addition to handing it out as a flier, it makes a great newspaper ad.
However you do it just make sure that you get the message out: Planned Parenthood protects child predators!
Planned Parenthood affiliates announce merger
On May 15 the Roanoke Times reported that Planned Parenthood of the Blue Ridge (PPBR) of Virginia announced that it will merge with the larger Planned Parenthood Health Systems (PPHS) of North Carolina.
While PPBR will no longer exist after the merger, its four clinics will be added to the eight that PPHS currently operates. This merger, effective June 30, will expand the operations of Planned Parenthood Health Systems to operations in parts of Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
Walter Klausmeier, president and CEO of PPHS, stated that the merger will improve the efficiency of certain activities for the nearly 35,000 combined customer base of the affiliates. He stated that PPBR was an appealing candidate for a merger; most likely because of the hospital-standard grade facility that was built in 2003 to accommodate more serious surgeries such as sterilizations.
David Nova, president of PPBR noted that Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) has been encouraging affiliates with an income of less than $2 million to merge with those with an income of over $6 million. This may explain why the merger is taking place now instead of last year when several members of PPBR's board left because of declining community support and poor leadership. That year PPBR made an income of approximately $2.5 million, whereas last year its income dropped to around $1.9 million.
Klausmeier noted that the merger will improve the efficiency of PP's clinics and Nova mentioned that PPFA encourages such mergers in order to "maximize efficiency" across the nation.
Remember that Planned Parenthood already commits 5,095 abortions every single week and yet it is still interested in "improving efficiency." Clearly the current death toll is not good enough for this abortion giant.
ALL mourns passing of Dr. Jerry Falwell
Washington, D.C. -- American Life League president Judie Brown issued the following statement upon learning of the death of Dr. Jerry Falwell:
On behalf of all our American Life League supporters I mourn the passing of one of our dearest friends, Dr. Jerry Falwell. From the earliest days of American Life League's existence, Dr. Falwell lent his name, his support and his counsel to much of what we did then and continue to do today. Dr. Falwell inspired and supported our first efforts to expose Planned Parenthood in 1980. Through the years, he continued to support our work, as we did his many ventures into educating the public with regard to the evil of abortion. We will miss our dear friend, Dr. Jerry Falwell, but will never forget his courage and dedication to God's Word.
Planned Parenthood tries to hide from the message of Colorado STOPPers
Fourteen months ago, a dedicated group of pro-lifers in Durango, Colorado took on the task of a weekly picket of the Planned Parenthood abortion facility in that community. The pro-lifers formed a new group, LifeGuard, and became an associate group of American Life League.
For 14 months, they have been in front of Planned Parenthood every week. Their efforts have been featured in local news stories and Planned Parenthood has done its best to claim they were having no effect.
Then, last week, the Durango Herald reported that Planned Parenthood is currently in the process of building an eight foot tall fence around its facility. It hopes the fence will reduce the visibility of the protestors to PP's clients. It also is raising money by asking visitors to PP to "pledge a real picket, $15 buys a board" and has put a donation jar inside the facility.
If Planned Parenthood feels that it must literally create a barrier between its customers and the members of LifeGuard the fruits of peaceful, prayerful protest are clear. Even as the fence was erected the protesters were not deterred; several mentioned that they would be there again next week, and may even bring ladders to bring their message above the fence.
We congratulate LifeGuard and the community members of Durango for their continued presence in opposition to Planned Parenthood and encourage them and all who protest PP's evil work to not give up until every single clinic is closed down for good.
Let us know about your protests at Planned Parenthood
We know that stories like the one above happen all the time across the country but rarely are recognized beyond the bounds of the local community. Because of this American Life League is in the process of compiling a list of groups that meet to protest Planned Parenthood on a regular basis. By providing this list of local protests across the country we hope to increase interest in both members of the media and individuals in your community who would like to become active in the fight.
We ask that you please help us to make this list as complete as possible.
If your community holds a regular protest against Planned Parenthood please send us an e-mail and provide the name of your organization, the location of the Planned Parenthood clinic, what days and times your protests are scheduled and any contact information for your group.
California STOPPers employ unique tactic in fighting Planned Parenthood
American Life League recently received a letter from Marge Crotty in Napa, California. She told us about a unique and effective tactic that members of her community have employed to visibly protest the evil work of Planned Parenthood:
One rainy morning as our group met to say the rosary in front of Planned Parenthood, we noticed that half of us carried red umbrellas. We noticed the extra attention that we got from the public and it occurred to us that red would be a great color for us to adopt. Red for the blood shed by the nation's largest abortion provider; red for the Holy Spirit, who inspires us as we speak to young mothers entering the clinic and speaks for us as we pray. Umbrellas, too, are a symbol of the tears which are shed and should be shed for a nation that kills its most vulnerable. It has been a year since we adopted red umbrellas as our symbol (and rain or shine they are practical as well.)We meet each Thursday after 9 a.m. Mass at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. And just as artists point out that a spot of red on a landscape makes a difference, we hope that our spots of red make a difference, however slight on the contemporary landscape.
We have at least once success story from Birthright of Napa. The director tells us that one day a client came in and said, "the red umbrella ladies sent me here."
We commend the dedication of these people who are a peaceful, prayerful presence regularly at their local PP clinic. We also applaud the ingenious ways they have strengthened the effectiveness of their presence.
It is a good idea to adopt a similar "symbol" for your actions at Planned Parenthood. First of all the repetition of an item such as a red umbrella will draw extra attention to the protest by passersby as well as the media. Such a visual cue also will be a way to clearly distinguish one's self from Planned Parenthood's escorts that may be present at the site. Finally a symbol such as this will further unify the efforts of those who participate in your local fight against Planned Parenthood.
