Planned Parenthood plans to move to new facility in Lufkin, Texas

Planned Parenthood plans to open a 6,700-square-foot facility, on November 12, at 205 Shands Drive in Lufkin, Texas. This new $1.5 million PP clinic will replace the previous clinic at 1404 Frank Street, which PP has operated for 30 years. Regular readers of the WSR will remember that on October 10, we reported that PP used intimidation tactics at this old clinic, including a man with a chain saw trying to terrify a mother and her two young daughters.

We encourage all pro-lifers to protest this new PP clinic in Lufkin, Texas now. Get the word out and join the fight in defeating Planned Parenthood.

Grocery store builds fence near Planned Parenthood

After reportedly receiving pressure from Planned Parenthood, owners of a grocery store decided to build a fence around an area where many pro-lifers gathered to pray. During the evening of October 11, Dominick's Finer Foods of Aurora, Illinois put a chain-link fence around a vacant lot that the company owns, right across from the entrance of the new Planned Parenthood location in Aurora, Illinois.

This fence has now made it more difficult for pro-lifers to gather directly across from the entrance to PP. The protesters must now stand at the entrance of a private road that leads into a shopping center and the PP killing center. Eric Scheidler and Fox Valley Families Against Planned Parenthood report that PP launched a telephone campaign, calling on Dominick's to throw pro-lifers off the lot.

To express your objections, call the Dominick's customer line at 877-723-3929. Also, call Brian Dowling, public affairs vice president of Safeway Corporation (parent company of Dominick's) at 925-467-3000.

Despite the fence, the Here for Life rally at the site brought in 1,000 pro-lifers on October 27.

A call for prayer warriors at Planned Parenthood this Saturday

American Life League congratulates David Bereit and all of the 40 Days for Life participants on the great amount of success this campaign has spread across the country.

40 Days for Life began September 26 and will officially end this Sunday, November 4.

The peaceful vigils must continue!

As the 40 Days for Life campaign goes into its final weekend, David has called for prayer warriors to be outside of every Planned Parenthood facility (and every abortion center) in the nation this Saturday, November 3. We encourage you to find the PP clinic nearest to you and be there on Saturday. You can locate the nearest facility by going to our map.

David recently sent out a copy of a fund-raising e-mail sent by Cecile Richards, the president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. Below are excerpts from Richards' e-mail:

It's pouring here at Planned Parenthood.

Specifically, right this minute, it's pouring in Kansas, where a particularly venomous district attorney has just filed 107 baseless charges against Planned Parenthood in court. And today, the anti-choice fringe is asking Congress to suspend $300 million in federal funding for our affiliates' health care services until the case is settled.

Unbelievable. Please help.

Today's news comes on the heels of an unprecedented series of attacks on Planned Parenthood.

Last week, the rain fell on us in Washington, D.C., where one U.S. senator called us out by name in an amendment that would have limited birth control funding for health centers like ours.

Throughout this month, the anti-choice fringe is showering our clinics with protesters during its "40 Days for Life" campaign, which our own Emily X is documenting in painfully vivid pictures and videos.

And then, there's President Bush's appointment last week of an anti-birth control hardliner to be in charge of U.S. family planning policy. And let's not forget our epic fight in Illinois last month to open our Aurora health center.

This unprecedented storm - these attacks on Planned Parenthood and the women we serve - are relentless, and are on the move across the country with no signs of stopping.

Let's all make this coming weekend the most noteworthy in PP's history. Let's fill the sidewalks outside of every PP facility with prayer warriors who will ask God to end the killing of His children by this satanic organization.

Baby saved in Nebraska

As part of American Life League's map room web page, we invite all pro-lifers across the nation to use this as a helpful resource in the fight against Planned Parenthood.

One of the tools on this web page gives you an opportunity to submit reports on your experiences with fighting PP. Pam McCabe submitted this success story, which tells of a peaceful protest outside of a PP location in Lincoln, Nebraska:

A husband dropped his wife off at the end of the Planned Parenthood driveway. As the husband pulled away we told him, "You are ending your baby's life with this abortion" and he replied, "That is not what she is here for," and he drove off.

The wife indicated that she had several young children at home and walked inside the abortion facility. We are blessed to have 40 to 80 prayer people stand in witness to life each Friday as the abortion deaths are done.

Our Lord answered our prayers for this couple. An hour later the husband pulled up again at the end of the driveway and as the woman walked past us, she smiled this beautiful smile and said, "I have changed my mind!"

It was a blessed moment that made all we had to endure that day with the escorts and PP people worth it!!

Praise God for this life saved!

If you have a story about your experiences at Planned Parenthood that you would like us to share with the world, please go to our Map Room web page and submit your story.
