Update on Habitat's collusion with Planned Parenthood

Last week we told you of Habitat for Humanity's involvement with the situation surrounding the opening of a new Planned Parenthood abortion facility in Sarasota, Florida. Since that time, you have sent many e-mails and made many phone calls to the Habitat offices, telling them to back out of the deal.

Unfortunately, some who have called and written have expressed less than Christian thoughts. There has reportedly been some name-calling and worse. PLEASE, we need you to call and write, but always do so in a loving and Christian way. Be firm, but be gentle with your words. It appears that there may be an opportunity for success here, but the nasty phone calls and e-mails are not helping.

The CEO of Habitat for Humanity in Sarasota, Tony Souza, is telling callers that the paperwork has not yet been signed and that he is having some doubts. But, he says, it is ultimately up to Habitat's Board of Directors. According to its web site, the current board members are Zeb Portanova, James Frederick, Bob Ripley, Fred Scheerle, Brock Leach, Bill Johnson, Ken Pendery, Bruce Franklin, John Schaub III, Rich Gerrity, Erin McLeod, Mark Usher, Patrick Ryskamp, Laurin Ripley, Dr. Peter Wish, Bruce Wismer, Dr. Peter A. Wish and Janice Zarro.

Please add these board members to your mailing lists and send e-mails to them at info@sarasotahabitat.com.

Interestingly, Habitat board member Bruce Franklin is reportedly a principal in the ADP Group, the architectural firm for the PP abortuary.

We encourage all STOPPers to contact Habitat for Humanity and ask that they break this agreement: Habitat for Humanity, 1757 N. East Ave., Sarasota, FL 34234, 941-365-0700, tsouza@sarasotahabitat.com.

We also encourage you to contact Habitat for Humanity International to register your complaint. You can reach them at 1-800-HABITAT. They also have a complaint line: 1-800-461-9330. Pease contact both of these numbers and let them know that Habitat should have nothing to do with Planned Parenthood. Contact, Duane Bates, Director of Public and Media Relations 404-733-3079, dbates@habitat.org.

Planned Parenthood does it again

What is "Auburn Avenue Parking" and how does it tie in to Planned Parenthood?

Auburn Avenue Parking is the name used by PP in Cincinnati, Ohio to buy a building that it intends to use as a new clinic. Just as it did in Aurora, Illinois (Gemini Office Development) and Denver, Colorado (Fuller38), PP bought the property under a name that would not be associated with its evil empire.

But vigilant pro-life forces discovered the subterfuge and are gearing up for an all-out fight against this new PP facility. They will be holding a public meeting this Saturday, May 31 at 2:00 PM at Elder High School at 3900 Vincent Avenue, Cincinnati.

If you are in the Cincinnati or Northern Kentucky area, please come to the meeting and find out what you can do to help stop this PP clinic. The featured speaker at the meeting will be American Life League's vice president, Jim Sedlak.

Planned Parenthood settles lawsuit

The Lincoln Journal Star has reported that Planned Parenthood has entered into a settlement agreement with a woman who sued the operator of the nation's largest abortion chain for perforating her uterus during an abortion procedure and causing her to lose 80 percent of her blood.

Planned Parenthood of Nebraska & Council Bluffs and the Nebraska woman have reached a confidential settlement and no details were disclosed.

Attorneys for PP and the woman, identified in the lawsuit by the pseudonym Jane Roe, filed papers in Lancaster County District Court last week seeking dismissal with prejudice of the claim. James Snowden, attorney for PP, told the newspaper that the settlement was a compromise of a disputed claim and did not involve any admission of liability or fault.

Once again, PP has been involved in a medical lawsuit. When will people realize that it is dangerous to go to PP?

Operation Rescue produces Planned Parenthood timeline

Operation Rescue, a pro-life Christian activist organization that takes direct action to restore legal personhood to the preborn, has produced a timeline of events concerning the evil workings and legal issues of Planned Parenthood of Kansas and Mid-Missouri.

The timeline begins in 2003 with Phill Kline's swearing-in as attorney general of Kansas and ends with the current status of this PP affiliate.

So much is still happening in just this month of May alone. The following has already taken place:

May 2, 2008 - In a huge victory, the Kansas Supreme Court unsealed a secret lawsuit filed by Planned Parenthood against District Attorney Phill Kline. Planned Parenthood was seeking to have the Court order Kline to return abortion records that are critical evidence in Kline's prosecution of 107 criminal charges against the abortion giant. Also unsealed was the secret suit against Judge Richard Anderson pursued by Attorney General Stephen Six to conceal evidence that Planned Parenthood "manufactured" records to cover up crimes.

May 13, 2008 - Operation Rescue released four recently unsealed court records that show Attorney General Stephen Six actively undermining District Attorney Phill Kline's prosecution of 107 criminal charges against Planned Parenthood.

May 18, 2008 - Operation Rescue's release of documents is followed by an Associated Press story outlining the efforts by Six to prevent Kline from accessing evidence and noting that such action could jeopardize Kline's case against Planned Parenthood.

May 21, 2008 - Kline files a motion to intervene in Six v. Anderson with the Kansas Supreme Court for the purpose of asking them to drop their gag order on Judge Anderson and allow him to testify and produce evidence that Planned Parenthood "manufactured records to conceal abortion-related crimes."

May 21, 2008 - Judge Stephen Tatum delays Kline's preliminary hearing in the criminal case to allow the Supreme Court time to decide if Anderson should be allowed to testify.

May 22, 2008 - Under mounting public scrutiny and pressure, Attorney General Steve Six modifies his motion before the Kansas Supreme Court and indicates that all records in Anderson's po[s]session should not be returned to Planned Parenthood until all investigations and criminal cases conclude. Kline refiles his motion asking the KS Supreme Court to lift their gag order on Judge Anderson so he may testify in Kline's prosecution of Planned Parenthood.
